When I was just a small boy I explored my universe by playing around with an old fashioned camera.
I couldn’t wait to process the black & white film which I hastily loaded into a tank whilst in total darkness. Later bathed in the red glow of a darkroom lamp I saw one of my photographs slowly appear as a print in the wet developing tray, it was simply astonishing, like seeing for the very first time!
So that was it… I knew it was all I wanted to do, to make photographs that gave me a rush of excitement and awe.
So here I am, it’s a fair few years later and I still find myself getting fundamentally the same sensations from creating my high-end digital images.
I can only hope a fraction of that emotion is shared when others explore my work and license my imagery.

“To photograph is to hold one’s breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It’s at that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy.” — Henri Cartier-Bresson
